Job Title: Business Analyst
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst specializing in Accounting and Budgeting to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate will possess advanced proficiency in Excel, a comprehensive understanding of financial statements including MIS (Management Information System), adeptness in business case assessment, variance analysis, financial modeling, and familiarity with Business Intelligence (BI) tools. As a Business Analyst, you will play a crucial role in financial planning, analysis, and reporting, contributing directly to the strategic decision-making process of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to assess financial performance and provide insights to management.Conduct variance analysis to identify key drivers of financial performance and recommend corrective actions as needed. Develop and maintain financial models to forecast future financial performance and support strategic planning initiatives.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget variances and provide explanations for discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation of financial presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
Accounting Support:
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
Business Case Assessment:
- Evaluate investment opportunities and business proposals by conducting comprehensive financial analysis.
- Provide recommendations based on financial viability, risk assessment, and strategic alignment.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance efficiency within the finance function.
- Implement best practices in financial analysis and reporting to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Skills:
- CA/CPA with 4-6 years of experience
- Proven experience of at least 2 years as a Business Analyst or similar role, with a focus on accounting and budgeting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulae, pivot tables, macros and data manipulation.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Experience with financial modeling, scenario analysis, and forecasting techniques.
- Familiarity with Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as Power BI, or similar platforms.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
